This two-part zine compiles and documents the first year of the artist’s two yearlong studies in Hong Kong. Meant as a little physical trinket, the zine came with a personalized analog darkroom print and letter. The 20 existing copies were gifted to friends made along the way in Hong Kong as well as friends from Germany and family members.
The zine features photographs of people and places taken throughout the year, mostly on black and white analog film, personal writings, and a number of songs that were of some significance.
The zine, photograph and letter were sown shut in a translucent handmade envelope, requiring the receiver to either force their entry or find creative ways to non-destructively open it further enhancing the personalized experience.
